Having a Web Presence
Today Is KEY, especially
if you are in any type of business or service. You can direct potential customers
to your website where they can see for themselves how doing business with
you will benefit them. If you have products to offer, you can showcase your
products and include helpful descriptions and good pictures. If you offer
a service, you can point out all of the many benefits for your clients that
your service offers. In short, using the web to promote your business makes
very good sense. And, if you sell products that lend themselves to it, you
can use the web to sell directly to your customers and have them pay you on-line
with their credit cards.
Having a website has a number of
advantages over other forms of adver-tising such as newspapers or TV and
radio.
*Relatively Inexpensive.
Advertising on your own website is much less costly than using any other media.
If you put a big display ad in a newspaper, it can get very expensive, and
it will cost every time you insert the ad. Set up a website, however, and
you pay only once. The site can stay on the web all year long, and there is
no additional charge
*Easy to Change.
If you have a product that changes frequently, web advertising is extremely
cost effective. Once the site is up, it's very easy to make changes. If you
develop a new product, in no time at all you can have that product's information
on your website, available for all to see. Some websites, notably eBay, undergo
many daily changes, whereas others may remain unchanged for several years.
But in either case, the flexibility and ease of change options are there for
you. And, many times, you only need to change a very small part of your website.
If you have a product that changes every so often, only the part of your website
that directly deals with that product needs to change, the rest of your site
can stay the same.
*Easily Tell
Your Customers All They Need to Know.
In a newspaper ad, you're limited. Maybe you would like to tell your clients
all about your product or show them pictures but you don't have the room or
the money. In the virtually unlimited real estate of a website, you can take
as much space and have as many web pages as you need to give your clients
all of the information they need to see why buying from you is their best
choice. Need pictures of your products? The web is the answer. Put as many
pictures in as you need. If customers have questions, you can have a Frequently
Asked Questions page. And if they want still more information, you can include
a contact form that they can fill out and submit.
*Forms.
Forms are a great way for your customers to get in touch with you and get additional
information. Certainly you can put a form in a newspaper ad, and a client
can fill it out, cut it out of the page, get an envelope and a stamp and send
it by mail, But in today's busy world, that's a pain where the sun doesn't
shine!
On a web page, your client can type in his or
her information and just click a virtual submit button. In a few seconds,
the form is in your inbox, ready for you to respond as necessary. Your client
didn't have to bother with envelopes and stamps or cut anything out either.

simple form and how it can work to bring customers to you!
Even if you're not in business, a website can
be a great way for you to post information that you'd like to share with others.
Having a big family get-together? Why not post pictures and other info on
the web? Then you can let all your friends and relatives know the web address,
and those who were unable to attend can still share the event with you. Lots
of folks have their own personal websites in addition to blog pages.
The Internet is here to stay, it's basically
a very good thing, and it can be a great helper and a great tool especially
for marketing.
